Wenn man vor dem Eingang des European Film Market steht hört man wie die zigarettenrauchenden Filmverleih- und Filmvertriebs- und Produktionsmenschen über Beträge im sechs- bis siebenstelligen Eurobereich sprechen. Drinnen spürt man die Vermarktungsmaschinerie der Filmindustrie ächzen. Das ist die Realität des Filmemachens.

If you are standing in front of the European Film Market you can listen to all the smoking worldsales and distribution and production people talking about hundreds of thousands of Euros. Inside you can feel the marketing machinery of the filmindustry. This is the reality of filmmaking.

Heute ist mir aufgefallen dass ich in Hotels mit normalem Frühstücksbuffett immer dasselbe in derselben Reihenfolge essen. Manche würden das neurotisch nennen, bei mir heißt es „Ritual“.

This morning I discovered that I am eating always the same food in the same order when I am staying at hotels that serve (extended) continental breakfast. Some might call this neurotic, but I am calling it „a ritual“.

Als ich ins Hotel in Berlin eingecheckt habe, freute ich mich sehr als die Frau an der Rezeption meinte „6.Stockwerk“. So weit oben würde ich sicherlich einen schönen Ausblick haben. Stattdessen sehe ich das hier. (Aber das Zimmer ist sauber, gut designed, hat W-LAN, ist zentral gelegen und erstaunlich ruhig, zumindest jetzt am Wochenende.)

When I checked into my hotel in Berlin the women at the desk said „6th floor“. I was happy because so high up in the building I would have a nice view. Instead I am seeing this. (But the room is clean, well designed, equipped with Wi-Fi, at a good location and stunningly quiet, at least now at the weekend.)

Heute wäre Thomas Bernhard 80 Jahre alt geworden. Deshalb habe ich ein Portrait von ihm gezeichnet.

Today Austrian writer Thomas Bernhard would have turned 80. That is why I drew a portrait of him.

Als sich Anna und Tim um 5 nach Jahren wieder trafen, war die Freude riesengroß. Obwohl Anna anmerkte dass sie sich nächstes Mal lieber an einem Ort treffen würde, wo nicht so viel Dreck zwischen den Pflastersteinen klebt.

When Anna and Tim met at 5 after many years, their happiness could not have been bigger. Nevertheless Anna said that she would love to meet again in a tidier place where dirt would not lurk between every cobblestone on the street.

Ich habe heute den ganzen Tag Dinge erledigt, aber längst nicht genug um die Müdigkeit zu rechtfertigen die mich befällt. Ich glaube das Problem liegt ganz woanders: Ich habe mich zu wenig um mein Inneres gekümmert. (Und bekämpfe das jetzt erstmal mit dem letzten Punkt auf der To Do Liste. Ich weiß dass ich mich dann besser fühle. Und dann ist das mit dem strahlen und großartig sein auch kein Problem mehr.)

Today I did stuff all day, but not nearly enough to understand where my deadly fatigue comes from. I think the problem lies somwhere else: I did not do enough stuff for my soul.  (And I will fight this feeling with crossing out the last point on my To Do List now. I know that means instant happiness. And then a lot of shining and total awesomeness will follow.)

Beim Aufräumen habe ich die leere Schachtel von meinem Handy gefunden, das ich vor einem Jahr gekauft habe. Als ich sie aufmachte entdeckte ich ein kleines Kino darin. (Mehr Fotos beim Klick auf das Bild unten.)

While cleaning my flat I found the box from a cellphone I bought last year. When I opened it I discovered a small cinema inside. (More photos if you click on the image below.)

Endlich habe ich meine Handyfotos auf den Mac transferiert. Und da habe ich entdeckt dass bei starkem Nebel ums Eck von meinem Büro ganz schön gruselige Gestalten lauern.

Finally I managed to transfer the photos from my mobile phone to the Mac. And there I realized that in fog and mist rather creepy creatures are lurking around the corner from my office.

Ab jetzt leben wir im Jahr des Hasen. (Tut mir leid, schon wieder ein Beitrag mit LOST Bezug. Ich kann nicht an mich halten.)
