Ich habe ein paar Schnapssorten verkostet und dabei entdeckt aus wie vielen Früchten/Nüssen etc. man Brände herstellen kann. Ich habe mir dann einen Kriercherlschnaps vom Stoaninger gekauft. Prost!

I tasted a few types of brandy and realized from how many different fruits and even nuts you can distill a very well tasting spirit. I bought a small bottle of „Kriecherlschnaps“ (a „Kriecherl“ is a special type of plum) from the Stoaninger distillery. Prost!

Ich bin gerade beim Filmfestival NEUER HEIMATFILM in Freistadt (Oberösterreich), daher der verspätete Be Creative Beitrag. Als Mitglied der Dokumentarfilmjury habe ich eine Menge großartiger Filme gesehen. Es erstaunt mich immer wiederwas man alles auf so einem winzigen Filmfestival entdecken kann. Und ich mag die weiten Reisen im Kopf während ich den ganzen Tag im selben Kinosaal bleibe. Das sind die Länder in denen ich in den letzten 48 Stunden war. (In unkorrekter Proportion und mit Fehlern, aber nach vier Filmen pro Tag plus Rahmenprogramm war ich in der Nacht nicht mehr so ganz konzentriert.)

I am at the film festival NEUER HEIMATFILM in Freistadt (Upper Austria) at the moment, hence the belated posting. As a member of the documentary film jury I saw a lot of great movies. It is always amazing how many gems you can discover at these ultra small film festivals. And it is great how far your mind travels while you stay in the same cinema the whole day. Here are the countries I have been to during the last 48 hours. (The proportions are not correct, and there are other errors as well in the drawing, but after four movies a day plus further program I was not so concentrated any more last night.)

Ich mag Rauna (=rote Rüben/Beete, für die NichtösterreicherInnen). Besonders als Salat mit Schafkäse und frischem Kren (=Meerrettich). (Ich habe das hier mit Rote Rüben Saft gemalt der beim Salatmachen übrig geblieben ist, aber die Farbe war blasser als ich mir das vorgestellt hatte.)

I like beetsroots. Especially as a salad with feta cheese and ground horseradish. (I painted this with beetroot juice that was left after making the salad. the colour turned out less vivid than I thought.)

Heute habe ich eine Sternschnuppe gesehen und mir etwas gewünscht. Und natürlich glaube ich fest daran dass der Wunsch in Erfüllung geht. Egal was die anderen Leute denken.

Today I saw a shooting star and made a wish. And of course I believe that it will come true. No matter what other people may think.

Sie wusste schon immer dass sie die Welt regieren könnte, jetzt wo sie ein Barometer besaß. (Ich habe beim Aufräumen einen Kalender und ein Buch mit alten Reklamen aus den 1960ern entdeckt. Daher benenne ich die Playboy Edition zur Retro Edition um.)

She always knew she could rule the world now that she owned a barometer. (I found a calender and a book full of old ads from the 1960ies. This is why I am renaming the former Playboy edition to Retro edition.)

Das Haus meiner Eltern ist verkauft und beinahe leer geräumt. Ich war noch ein letztes Mal dort bevor ich meinen Eltern meine Schlüssel zurückgegeben habe. (Hier ist das ganze Fotoset.)

My parents‘ house is sold and almost empty. I went there for the very last time before I gave my keys back to my parents. (This is the whole set.)

Ich war auf einer Hochzeit am Land in der Nähe von Salzburg eingeladen. Das war bei vielen der Dresscode, und es ist recht zünftig zugegangen.

I was invited to a wedding on the countryside near Salzburg. This was the dresscode for many of the guests, and the atmosphere was very „zünftig“. (I cannot think of a proper translation for „zünftig“ in English, you have to come to such a wedding and see yourself!)

Offenbar gibt es auch Geister die auf dem Mond leben. Der hier wirkt recht freundlich.

Obviously there are also ghosts living on the moon. This one seems to be quite friendly.
